A tiny, narrow space that was far from the field of beasts he remembered landing in all those years ago. Looking around, Dain noticed that he’d landed in what seemed to be a corridor. His back ached, his arms were as good as numb, and he could feel a sharp sting in his chest- though he didn’t know if that was from fear, from anticipation, or from the possibility of seeing the woman he loved so dearly once more. He crashed onto the hard ground, his cape doing little to soften the hit. The blue glow of the abyss took its sweet time in engulfing him, swallowing him whole as his descent continued. Without further hesitation, Dain jumped in, instantly overtaken by the sheer cold of the world beneath the ground. Travel, love again as they used to.Īnd after so many centuries… he couldn’t bring himself to wait anymore.

He wanted to help her break free of those abyssal chains. Perhaps he should call Aether- this could be his chance to reunite with his sister, who so long ago succumbed to the abyss’s influence.īut that could only make things problematic.Īether had not proven himself worthier than him to save her, and Dain didn’t consider himself a selfless person in the first place. It was soft, numbing, almost inviting- but Dain knew that what was waiting for him beyond was anything but. He even saw him shifting into Hydro to move faster, to teleport around.Īnd that was why Dainsleif was standing over this gaping hole in the earth, emanating the same shade of dark blue that the cracks in his arm did.

Dainsleif caught a direct glance of him a few times- spinning a dagger, twirling a polearm, both made of pure Hydro energy. This one used his element so carelessly, leaving trails of abyss-corrupted hydro energy everywhere. For years he sought an entrance into the abyss, but none of the heralds he tailed were careless enough to lead him there. That’s how Dainsleif was able to find this crack.įollowing the deep blue shade of the herald's traces, he managed to track down. Colorful hues of reds and blues and greens winding up and down the forests and mountains of Teyvat, leading to the person or object that left them behind. Those who were especially in tune with the elements were, in some cases, able to sense and see them. Elemental traces existed everywhere in Teyvat.
